Hulk Hogan asked to join The Rolling Stones and Metallica
Wrestler Hulk Hogan has revealed how he once tried to join Metallica and The Rolling Stones.Hogan recently detailed a chance encounter with Mick Jagger's ex-wife, Jerry Hall, which could have potentially led to him playing bass for the band.
"I always loved music and was in the UK for some award show," he told Noisey. "Jerry Hall, Mick Jagger’s old lady, was walking out with me to present this award. I heard her talking on the phone to Mick about, 'Oh, you got to find a bass player and you’ve only got two different choices.' "
Hogan continued: "She had already told me her kids were big fans and she wanted merchandise. I said, 'Look, I used to play bass. I know all The Rolling Stones songs. Tell Mick if you guys need a bass player, I swear to god I could show up.' I got home, sent her all the merchandise – and never heard a word back."
Despite this, the former WWE star reveals how his ultimate goal would be playing with Metallica.
He said: "I heard Metallica needed a bass player, and I was writing letters, made a tape of myself playing, and sent it to their management company. I kept making calls trying to get through. I tried for two weeks and never heard a word back from them either.”
He added: "I would have quit wrestling to play in The Rolling Stones or Metallica. I was hoping for a call from them but never got one. All the haters were like, 'You never auditioned for Metallica!' Of course I didn’t – but I tried."

SKREAM covers THE SMITHS - There Is A Light That Never Goes Out - Hear It Here
last year, Skream remixed The Smiths’ This Charming Man’ and lets say it wasn't very well received .
this time he’s returned with a piano-led cover of ‘There is a Light That Never Goes Out’ — featuring the vocals of Graham Sampson, the leader singer for Smiths cover band (tribute band?) The Smyths. Listen below; Skream explained the song’s origin on Soundcloud:
RIGHT….
The last time I touched a piece of The Smiths music I got absolutely annihilated…
Let me explain my reason behind this cover please.
Whenever I play in Manchester I end my set with a big Manchester record and last Friday being my return to Store Street I needed a track I hadnt used before..I’ve played all the obvious ones ‘Love WIll Tear Us Apart’ New Order, STone Roses etc etc….
So I picked this track but didn’t just want to play the original..
So I figured out a piano version but couldn’t find an acapella..
I then went on to spend my day listening to Smiths cover band and came across ‘The Smyths’ (www.thesmyths.net ) and contacted them and was introduced to Graham Sampson the lead singer who agreed to re sing it for me….
I wasnt gonna upload it but theres been demand from the people who were there Friday to hear it again and from people who wanna hear it from a video clip I uploaded..
Anyway..Here it is….And to all the Smiths fans please..No more death threats looooool

Quentin Tarantino to retire!
Quentin Tarantino has claimed that he will retire after he has made 10 films. The director currently has seven films to his name.
Tarantino made the claim during a Q&A for buyers at the American Film Market. He is currently making his eighth directorial title, The Hateful Eight.
Speaking at the Q&A, Tarantino said: "I don't believe you should stay onstage until people are begging you to get off. I like the idea of leaving them wanting a bit more. I do think directing is a young man’s game and I like the idea of an umbilical cord connection from my first to my last movie. I’m not trying to ridicule anyone who thinks differently, but I want to go out while I’m still hard… I like that I will leave a 10-film filmography, and so I've got two more to go after this. It’s not etched in stone, but that is the plan."
Although,he did not commit to a total retirement after his 10th movie. "If I get to the 10th, do a good job and don’t screw it up, well that sounds like a good way to end the old career. If, later on, I come across a good movie, I won’t not do it just because I said I wouldn’t. But 10 and done, leaving them wanting more, that sounds right."
REDSHIFT TRACK OF THE DAY - Ardypine - Beast
There seems to be very little on the web about Ardypine but we were sent it by a very reliable tastemaker friend of ours, however he too seemed very tight lipped on who she, they or he Ardypine are. A bizarre video of what looks like a mash up of someones home VHS tapes from the early 80s sits well with this brilliant track.
